Myanmar dragon boat team wins 9 medals

MYANMAR’S national dragon boat team won nine medals, comprising five silver and four bronze, at the World Dragon Boat Championships Qualify­ing Competition and the World Cup Dragon Boat Race in China.

At the World Drag­on Boat Championships Qualifying Competition, held in Hangzhou from 30 September to 3 October, the Myanmar team put in a strong performance, winning two silver and two bronze medals.

Meanwhile, at the World Cup Dragon Boat Race, organized by the In­ternational Canoe Federa­tion (ICF) in Yuanlin from 25 September to 3 Octo­ber, the Myanmar team won three silver and two bronze medals, bringing its total medal tally from the two competitions to nine.

A total of 24 countries, including leading Asian and South-East Asian nations, competed in the World Cup Dragon Boat Race. — TWA/KZL
