Myanmar Packaging Forum 2026 Convenes to Boost MSME Market Access and Standards
12 OCTOBER 2026
THE Myanmar Industries
Association (MIA) organized the Myanmar Packaging Forum 2026 at the Republic of
the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI)
headquarters in Ahlon Township, Yangon.
The event aimed to advance local
packaging standards, help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)
penetrate broader markets, introduce modern packaging machinery and practices,
and foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, technicians, and investors.
Joining the forum virtually from
Nay Pyi Taw, Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than
emphasized that superior packaging extends product shelf life, minimizes
transit damage, attracts consumers, and aligns products with international
standards. Noting the global shift toward eco-friendly, biodegradable, and
sustainable materials, he urged domestic MSME owners to adopt sustainable
packaging technologies to meet evolving international demand.
The event featured opening
addresses by the Yangon Region Minister for Electricity, Energy, Industry and
Transport, the UMFCCI President, and the MIA Chairman, followed by expert panel
discussions on packaging advancements, an interactive Q&A session, and a
summary review of key outcomes. – MNA/ST
