MYANMAR U17 and Indian U17 drew 1-1 in their first friendly match at Star City Stadium in Thanlyin, Yangon, on 4 October as both teams prepare for the 2027 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers in November.

The match was Myanmar U17’s final international friendly about a month before the qualifiers. Myanmar led 1-0 until the 70th minute before India equalised from a penalty in the 71st minute.

Both sides launched attacks from the start. In the 41st minute, Myanmar captain Aung Myat Thar made a run from the halfway line before scoring from inside the penalty area to put Myanmar ahead. Both teams continued to attack in the second half, with India’s Janti converting a penalty in the 71st minute to level the score.

The Myanmar U17 team is also competing in the domestic M-League U20 league under the name Galaxy to provide the players with more competitive experience.
