Students visit national museum in Yangon

A group of 111 students from Basic Education High School No 3 in Thakayta Township, Yangon Region, led by Headmaster U Maung Maung Hla and accompanied by supervising teachers visited the National Museum (Yangon) on Pyay Road at 9 am yesterday.

During the visit, the students explored galleries featuring the Lion Throne, Myanmar scripts and manuscripts, the Konbaung period, natural history and Myanmar’s prehistory, Myanmar’s urban culture, royal regalia, Myanmar traditional arts and crafts, ancient ornaments and jewellery, Myanmar paintings, Buddhist art, ASEAN countries and ethnic cultures.

Officials from the National Museum (Yangon) provided detailed explanations in each gallery, and the students showed keen interest in learning about the exhibits.

The visit helped students gain a better understanding of Myanmar’s rich historical heritage and the importance of preserving and protecting the country’s traditional cultural heritage.

The National Museum (Yangon) is open to the public daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except Monday and public holidays. Visitors are welcome to explore the museum. — Kyaw Kyaw (IPRD)/KZL
