SAC donates cash and kind to seven Buddhist learning centres in Monywa
The State Administration Council donated rice, cooking oil, salt, gram and cash for nine prerequisites to members of the Sangha from seven Buddhist learning centres in Monywa of Sagaing Region at the Dhammayon of Yankin Monastery in Monywa yesterday morning.
SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the party offered alms, cash for nine prerequisites, rice, cooking oil, salt and gram to abbots from Maha Weikza Theikpan, Yankin and Dhamma Paragu monasteries.
Yankin monastery abbot delivered a sermon, and the congregation shared the merits gained. The Senior General supplicated propagation of Buddhism, regional development and peaceful and stable measures and sought words of advice from the venerable members of the Sangha.
The State Administration Council donated 181 bags of rice, 326 visses of cooking oil, 272 visses of salt, 326 visses of gram and 163 visses of vermicelli to 791 members of the Sangha and K5 million each as nine prerequisites for seven Buddhist learning centres in Monywa. — MNA/TTA
