SAC to offer Waso robes to venerable members of the Sangha for Buddhist Lent

 



Officials from relevant com­mittees were urged to arrange comfortable process for vener­able members of the Sangha at the Waso robe offering cer­emony, said Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the coordination meeting of the Leading Committee for Organizing the 2023 Waso robe offering ceremony of the SAC at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw yes­terday afternoon.


Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Senior General, who is in the capacity of Patron of the Leading Committee, stressed the need to take special care of security for ushering mem­bers of the Sangha led by the Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committes, mem­bers of the State Central Work­ing Committee of the Sangha, Sangha Nayaka Committee of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Ovada­cariya Sayadaws of Uppatasanti Pagoda and chairmen of town­ship Sangha Nayaka Commit­tees into the Waso robe offering ceremony for 2023. Moreover, all measures for the ceremony must be in line with the Covid-19 protocols.


Significantly, the Vice-Sen­ior General underscored that it is necessary to take securi­ty measures in all aspects re­lated to allowing dispicles in paying homage to members of the Sangha and address weak points in the national level cer­emonies.


The Vice-Senior Geneal urged officials from relevant committees to arrange com­fortable process for venerable members of the Sangha at the Waso robe offering ceremony.


Chairman of the Leading Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan reported on plans for successfully holding the ceremony. Officials from rel­evant subcommittees presented measurs related to their sectors.


The Vice-Senior General coordinated the suggestions and reports and gave a conclud­ing remark. Then, the meeting came to a close. — MNA/TTA
