Dhamma Thabin ceremony held Buddha Day on full moon of Kason 1387 ME

A ceremony to organize the Dhamma Thabin cere­mony marking the Bud­dha Day on the full moon of Kason 1387 ME was held at Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Depu­ty Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe and con­gregation took the Nine Precepts from State Ovadacariya Chair of Shwegyin Nikaya 16^th Shwe­gyin Sangharaja Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies and Sitagu Hospitals Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru Ab­hidhaja Aggamaha Saddhamma­jotika Maha Dhammakathika Ba­hujanahitadhara Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara and respectfully listened to the Dham­makatha on the Buddha Day.

The Vice-Senior General do­nated cash for nine prerequisites for the Sayadaw through Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. The Sit­agu Sayadaw presented a certifi­cate of honour to the Vice-Senior General.

The Union Minister offered a certificate of honour to Sitagu Sayadaw who then delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits.

Also, present at the ceremo­ny were the Council Secretary and his wife, council members and their wives, Union-level dig­nitaries, Union ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior Tat­madaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and deputy ministers. — MNA/TTA
