800,000 Fingerlings Released Into Hlaing River in Htantabin Township



Htantabin, 24 July

To support the development of the fish farming industry, promote sustainable management of fishery resources, create local job opportunities, and ensure long-term access to clean, high-quality fish for consumption, 800,000 fingerlings were released into the Hlaing River near Kyun Ngu, Ward-4, Htantabin Township, Yangon Region, on the morning of 23 July.

The release is being conducted under the supervision of the Yangon Region Fisheries Department. Officials from the Region, District, and Township Fisheries Departments jointly participated in the effort, planting 800,000 fish fry sourced from the Hlawga and Lay Daunt Kan Fishery Stations into the river.

The release was carried out by U Tint Lwin, Deputy Regional Director of the Yangon Region Fisheries Department; U Soe Min, Staff Officer of the District Fisheries Department; the Township Administration Body Chairman and members; officials from the Township Fisheries Department; staff from the Hlawga and Lay Daunt Kan Fishery Stations; ward administrators; and local residents.— Zin Min Htike (Htantabin)
