MoIP Union Minister meets Myanmar- Thailand Friendship Association Chair



UNION Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing met U Tin Win, Chairman of the Myanmar-Thai­land Friendship Association, and his delegation in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing, the permanent secretary, directors-gen­eral and other officials, as well as responsible personnel from the Myan­mar-Thailand Friendship Association.

 

The Union minister first high­lighted the efforts of the Myan­mar-Thailand Friendship Association in promoting friendship and trade between the two countries, facilitat­ing the entry and exit of people from border areas, assisting with visas and residence permits under the law, col­laborating with relevant departments to open camps in Thailand to sup­port Myanmar migrant workers, and providing explanations of operational issues related to the Ministry while offering assistance under established procedures.

 

The Myanmar-Thailand Friend­ship Association chairman then out­lined the formation and organization of the association, its current opera­tions, cooperation between members and officials of both countries for mu­tual benefit, efforts to assist and care for Myanmar migrant workers in Thai­land, and the conditions under which the Ministry can provide support for these activities.

 

Afterwards, the Union minister provided the necessary instructions based on the explanations provided and on the procedures for the Ministry to support the association in connex­ion with its activities. — MNA/MKKS
