MoIP Union Minister meets Myanmar- Thailand Friendship Association Chair
UNION Minister for Immigration and
Population U Myint Kyaing met U Tin Win, Chairman of the Myanmar-Thailand
Friendship Association, and his delegation in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Deputy
Minister U Htay Hlaing, the permanent secretary, directors-general and other
officials, as well as responsible personnel from the Myanmar-Thailand
Friendship Association.
The Union minister first highlighted
the efforts of the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Association in promoting
friendship and trade between the two countries, facilitating the entry and
exit of people from border areas, assisting with visas and residence permits
under the law, collaborating with relevant departments to open camps in
Thailand to support Myanmar migrant workers, and providing explanations of
operational issues related to the Ministry while offering assistance under
established procedures.
The Myanmar-Thailand Friendship
Association chairman then outlined the formation and organization of the
association, its current operations, cooperation between members and officials
of both countries for mutual benefit, efforts to assist and care for Myanmar
migrant workers in Thailand, and the conditions under which the Ministry can
provide support for these activities.
Afterwards, the Union minister provided
the necessary instructions based on the explanations provided and on the
procedures for the Ministry to support the association in connexion with its
