Three missing after fishing boat capsizes off Aomori, Japan



A fishing boat collided with a cargo ship off Aomori Prefecture, northeastern Japan, and capsized, leaving three people missing.

The coast guard received a report from the cargo ship's captain at around 1:18 a.m. on Tuesday. The collision occurred about 20 kilometers off the coast of the city of Misawa.

Officials say all 13 crew members of the fishing boat were thrown into the water. Ten were rescued. Nine of them are conscious, while one is in critical condition.

The coast guard is searching for the missing three crew members using patrol vessels and aircraft.
