Kitchen Crop Cultivation Thriving in Kyunhla Township
Kyunhla, April 23
Farmers in Kyunhla Township, Sagaing Region, are successfully cultivating a wide variety of kitchen crops using water from streams, canals, and groundwater sources.
“In Kyunhla Township, farmers intending to grow kitchen crops are provided with technical guidance before planting to ensure they select crops suited to the local climate,” said Daw Myint Myint Yi, Head of the Township Agriculture Department. “In this area, seasonal crops such as eggplant, tomato, kale, radish, mustard, cauliflower, garlic, onion, okra, peas, coriander, chili, and pumpkin are widely grown,” she added.
To support healthy growth and improve yields, the Township Agriculture Department is also distributing natural fertilizers and conducting field-based training on the preparation and application of organic pesticides and insecticides.—Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
