One killed by lightning in Kyaunggon Township

Kyaunggon, April 27

A 58-year-old man was killed by lightning in Duchaseik Village, Kyaunggon Township, Ayeyarwady Region, at about 5:30 pm yesterday.

The victim, identified as U Win Hlaing, was working in a field outside the village with two companions, transporting straw for cattle feed by tractor, when strong winds, light rain, and sudden lightning struck.

He died at the scene after being hit. The body was sent to Dauntgyi Station Hospital for examination, and local police have opened a case and are investigating the incident.—Win Kyaing (IPRD)
