Vietnam's air passenger numbers climb to 24.1 mln in Q1

Vietnam's aviation sector handled 24.1 million passengers in the first three months of 2026, up 16 percent from a year earlier, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.

Domestic passenger numbers rose 12 percent to 10.2 million, while international traffic jumped 19 percent to 13.9 million, the report said, citing the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Growth was driven by major markets such as China, South Korea and Russia, the report said.

Vietnamese carriers are ramping up fleet capacity and expanding international networks to tap rising travel demand ahead of the summer peak.
