Fire Breaks Out in Ward No. 4 of Athote Town, Yegyi Township
Yegyi, May 7
A fire broke out in Ward No. 4 of Athote Town in Yegyi Township, Kyonpyaw District, Ayeyarwady Region, at around 1:30 am today.
According to reports, the fire started at a tea shop owned by U Tin Htwe in Ward No. 4, Athot Town. The blaze was believed to have been caused by embers left in the kitchen after a cooking fire had been extinguished before the owner returned home.
Fire fighters led by U Soe Naing, head of the Yegyi Township Fire Services Department, and town administrator U Pyae Phyo Paing rushed to the scene with four fire engines and one water tanker. The fire was brought under control by approximately 1:40 am.
Three shops were destroyed in the fire, with estimated property losses totalling K900,000. No casualties were reported.— Township IPRD
