Devotees Throng Bagan Ancient Cultural Heritage Area for Waso Full Moon Day
THE Bagan-NyaungU Ancient Cultural Heritage Area was bustling with pilgrims from across Myanmar and residents performing meritorious deeds on Second Waso Full Moon Day, also known as Dhammacakka Day.
From the auspicious day, devotees from across the country flocked to the Shwezigon Pagoda to offer alms, pay homage and practise meditation.
The surge of visitors yesterday also brought increased business for horse-cart drivers, e-bike rental operators, mini-van services, local tour guides, food vendors, souvenir sellers and guesthouse operators.
The ancient pagodas of Bagan were filled with tourists, pilgrims and devotees taking part in religious activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere across the historic cultural area. — MNA/MKKS
