Myanmar, Thailand to deepen military cooperation

Services General Ye Win Oo received a Royal Thai Army delegation led by Lt-Gen
Warathep Boonya, who attended the 38th Myanmar-Thailand
Regional Border Committee Meeting, at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw
yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they frankly discussed
successful holding of the 38th Myanmar-Thailand Regional Border Committee
meeting in Myanmar, measures to strengthen the longstanding friending and
cooperation between two Tatmadaws, the gratitude to Thailand for its
humanitarian aid and rescue teams sent to Myanmar in the occurrence of the
Mandalay earthquake on 28 March 2025, the exchange of goodwill visits,
cultural delegations, sports teams, and trainees between the two Tatmadaws,
enhanced bilateral military cooperation to promote peace, stability,
development, and counter-terrorism efforts in border areas, and increased
cooperation between the two governments and Tatmadaws in combatting illegal
trade, drug trafficking, online scam and illegal gambling operations.
They exchanged commemorative gifts and
had documentary photos taken together with the attendees.
Also present at the meeting were senior
Tatmadaw officers from the office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), commanders,
the Military Attaché (Army, Navy and
Air) of Myanmar to Thailand and relevant officials. The Thai leader was
accompanied by Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Royal Thai Embassy, senior
military officers from the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and other relevant
