Myothit Township Targets 64,201 Acres of Rain-fed Paddy

Myothit Township in Magway Region has set a target of cultivating 64,201 acres of rain-fed paddy during the 2026–2027 fiscal year, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

To support the cultivation of rain-fed paddy, the Township Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department is supplying irrigation water from Natmauk Dam, Pulin Dam, Swan Dam, and Saddan Dam.

During the planting season, agriculture department staff are conducting field demonstrations and providing technical assistance to farmers. The support includes promoting high-yielding rice varieties suited to local conditions, encouraging systematic planting methods, advising on the proper application of soil amendments and fertilizers, and introducing appropriate agricultural technologies to help improve productivity.— Than Win Tun (IPRD)
