11th Myanmar Lethwei World Championship set for 9 August

THE 11th Myanmar Lethwei World Championship will be held at Theinbyu Lethwei Arena in Yangon at 2 pm on 9 August, organized by the Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation (MTLF) and Myanmar Martial Arts Group (MMAG), with Myanmar Economic Corporation serving as the main sponsor and support from MAI, Mingalar Aviation, A Bank and Max Cement.

The event will feature a series of bouts across six weight classes, beginning with a 53 kilogramme event, four-round contest between rising prospects Daung Mike Thway (Nine Lethwei) and Saw Ruby (YMA). The second bout will see Kayin Champion Aung Ko Latt (Ray) take on Saw Htein Lin (555 Sports) in a 65 kilogramme, four-round match.

The championship will then move into its gold belt contests, with MLWC gold medallist Salai Thang Kwi Shein (Kyar Ma Naing) facing SEA Games bronze medallist Hein Tun Aung (Khay Yu Wah) in the 56 kilogramme, five-round title bout. Another gold belt clash will pit MLWC champion Eh Mwi (Eh Kanyaw) against Sky Net Gold Flag champion Thant Zin (Python Tawwin Ayeya) in the 60 kilogramme category.

The co-main event will feature MLWC gold medallist Naing Win Tun (Nine Lethwei) against Kayin Champion Kabar Shah (Zar Htet Meiktila) in a 67 kilogramme, five-round gold belt fight.

The headline attraction of the evening will be the 75 kilogramme, five-round gold belt showdown between Tun Min Aung (Top One) and Raman (Yoe Yar Swan Ah). Both fighters have built strong reputations in domestic and international competitions and are known for their knockout power, making the bout one of the most highly anticipated contests of the championship.
