With the aim of ensuring domestic food sufficiency, a total of 24,999 acres of monsoon paddy had been estimated for cultivation in Natmauk Township, Magway. So far, 17,263 acres of monsoon paddy have been successfully cultivated.
The area completed during this monsoon season has exceeded that of the previous monsoon cultivation. In addition, the department of agriculture has encouraged local farmers to cultivate the Aung Naing Toe paddy variety for higher yields. A total 32 farmers from Latkhautbin, Gwecho and Shwepataw village-tracts have successfully cultivated 60 baskets of Aung Naing Toe paddy.
