Cleanliness at destinations key to tourism development
AS part of efforts to facilitate the state tourism development and attract increasing numbers of local and foreign tourists, tourist destinations need to be kept clean all year, said Kayin State Chief Minister and State Tourism Committee Chair U Saw Myint Oo during the committee meeting held on 20 August.
He said the committee will need to make efforts to attract more tourists and explore more new tourist destinations. Residents, religious leaders and relevant officials are also needed to cooperate in promoting the state’s popular tourist destinations to accommodate multiple visits of local and foreign tourists.
Cleanliness is vital for tourism development, and fan groups for Zwegabin, Kyainn Hill and Taungwine Hill have been formed. They have also been cooperating in ensuring tourist attraction sites are clean, he said.
A boat ride is available at Saddan Cave, and a field investigation has already been carried out at Alawan Lake to provide rafting in monsoon and summer as well.
He pointed out that the state’s tourist destinations need to be kept clean throughout the year, ensuring no interruption in tourist arrivals and urged all stakeholders to cooperate in efforts to see further increases in tourist arrivals. — MT/ZS
