Fire Breaks Out in Tachilek Township
Tachilek, August 4
A fire broke out at a house in Mae Yang Village, Tachilek Township, eastern Shan State, this morning due to overheating of an extension cord.
The incident occurred when a fan connected to an extension cord was being used inside the house. The cord overheated, causing a fire to start. Upon receiving the report, a firefighting team led by U Hla Min, Fire Chief of Tachilek District, promptly arrived at the scene with one fire engine, one water tanker, and one administrative vehicle.
With assistance from local residents, firefighters brought the blaze under control and extinguished it at 11:30 a.m.
The fire damaged the fan, extension cord, and several household items. No injuries to people or animals were reported. Relevant authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.—Kyaw Zayar Lin
