KBZ Bank, Shwe Minn Tha Foundation sign MoU
KBZ Bank and the Shwe Minn Tha Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a five-year project titled “Building Bridges by Breaking Barriers - 5B,” which will provide scholarships to 47 students with disabilities.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 13 August at the KBZ Learning Academy. The programme is aimed at helping individuals with disabilities overcome educational barriers and build a better future.
Under this programme, a total of 47 outstanding students from various regions across Myanmar, representing diverse types of disabilities, including physical, visual, hearing, and intellectual disabilities, were selected and awarded scholarships. The recipients include 24 high school students (from Grade 8 to Grade 12), five university students, and 18 distance university students.
KBZ Bank will provide monthly support for an initial period of five years, and will also create opportunities for future employment. Responsible officials from both parties, along with the scholarship recipients and their parents, attended the ceremony. The event also featured a Digital Literacy Awareness Programme, sharing essential dos and don’ts to prevent digital fraud via mobile wallets, as well as guidance on using KBZPay safely.
KBZ Bank stated that it is continuously striving to create equal opportunities and bright futures for young people who are overcoming challenges to fulfil their dreams. — MT/ ZN
