Mongyawng’s MSY agricultural activities inspected
THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, conducted a field inspection on 15 August to review the progress of agricultural activities financed through the revolving fund of the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project in Wanhwayhtan Village, Mongyawng Township.
Mongyawng Township Department of Rural Development Head Daw Aye Moe Khine inspected the progress of systematic agricultural activities being carried out with loans from the project’s revolving fund. She also met members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Management Committee to examine whether monthly financial records had been properly completed, while coordinating and providing necessary assistance for matters raised by local communities.
The MSY Village Project was initially launched in Wanhwayhtan Village with a revolving fund of K30 million. At present, 10th-round loans totalling K41 million have been disbursed at low interest rates to 37 project members, all of whom are successfully operating local systematic agricultural activities with support from the project funds. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
