Mongyawng’s MSY agricultural activities inspected




THE Department of Ru­ral Development, under the Ministry of Coopera­tives and Rural Develop­ment, conducted a field inspection on 15 August to review the progress of agricultural activities financed through the re­volving fund of the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project in Wanhwayhtan Village, Mongyawng Township.


Mongyawng Town­ship Department of Ru­ral Development Head Daw Aye Moe Khine in­spected the progress of systematic agricultural activities being carried out with loans from the project’s revolving fund. She also met members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Management Commit­tee to examine whether monthly financial records had been properly com­pleted, while coordinating and providing necessary assistance for matters raised by local commu­nities.


The MSY Village Pro­ject was initially launched in Wanhwayhtan Village with a revolving fund of K30 million. At present, 10th-round loans totalling K41 million have been disbursed at low interest rates to 37 project mem­bers, all of whom are suc­cessfully operating local systematic agricultural activities with support from the project funds. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
