MoL Union Minister meets Thai Labour Minister in Bangkok




UNION Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe, who is in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the 29th ASEAN La­bour Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings, met Thai Minister of Labour Mr Julapun Amornvivat at the Dusit Thani Hotel on the evening of 25 August to dis­cuss bilateral labour issues.


The two sides dis­cussed lists of Myanmar workers in Thailand by occupation, facilitating le­gal family remittances, ex­panding Certificate of Iden­tity (CI) issuance centres, introducing a U-turn pro­cess for Myanmar workers who have completed four years of continuous em­ployment under the MoU system, ensuring Myanmar workers receive their social security benefits, signing an agreement between the two countries’ social security organizations, and establishing a Temporary Data Collection Centre (TDCC) to issue Myanmar passports.


The meeting was at­tended by Myanmar Am­bassador U Zaw Zaw Soe, Director-General of the Department of Labour U Kyaw Kyaw Lwin, mem­bers of the Myanmar del­egation and Thai labour officials.


The Myanmar delega­tion will also attend the 14th ASEAN+3 Labour Minis­ters’ Meeting and bilateral meetings between labour ministers. — MNA/MKKS
