Myanmar FIFAe team eyes World Cup berth at Asian Championship

THE Myanmar FIFAe Mobile team has qualified for the FIFAe Continental Championship Asia 2026 after finishing sixth in the consistency rankings at the FIFAe Nations League 2026.

The FIFAe Continental Championship Asia 2026 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 19 to 22 August. The tour­nament serves as an important Asian qualifier for the FIFAe World Cup 2026, which will be held in Saudi Arabia.

In the first stage, eight Asian teams will compete in a round-rob­in format. The teams finishing in the top six will advance to the knockout stage. The top two teams will progress directly to the semi-finals, while those fin­ishing third to sixth will begin in the quarterfinals.

Under the qualification slots allocated to Asia, the top three teams will qualify directly for the FIFAe World Cup 2026. The team finishing fourth will face New Zea­land in a play-off for another World Cup place.

The Myanmar FIFAe Mobile team will therefore aim to achieve strong results in the round-rob­in stage and compete for a place at the FIFAe World Cup 2026. — TWA/KZL
