RBF project introduced; working group formed in Myeik

THE Department of Rural De­velopment, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural De­velopment, held an introduction and working group formation ceremony for the Rural Busi­ness Fund (RBF) Project at the monastery in Sandawut Village in Myeik Township yesterday.

At the ceremony, U Moe Myint, an Amyotha Hluttaw representative, delivered the opening remarks. Daw Tin Tin Soe, Head of the Department of Rural Development in Myeik District, explained the objec­tives, benefits and implemen­tation procedures of the Rural Business Fund (RBF) Project.

Township Head Daw Khin Aye of the Department of Rural Development in Myeik Town­ship then explained the guide­lines and requirements for forming a village-level project working group in compliance with the project manual.

Afterwards, the Head of­ficer and responsible officials elected and formed a five-mem­ber RBF Project Working Group based on villagers’ con­sensus.

Under the Rural Business Fund (RBF) Project, agricultur­al and livestock activities will be carried out through a group-based system in the village. The Myeik Township Department of Rural Development stated that the implementation of the RBF Project is expected to contrib­ute towards improvement of the socioeconomic well-being of rural communities. — Moe Moe (DRD)
