Thayezay-Taungpyone train services expanded

DUE to the large number of visitors attending the Taungpyone Festival, Myanma Railways has increased the frequency of trains on the Thayezay-Taungpyone route.

The expanded service began on 19 August to facilitate travel for festival-goers. Two additional trains have been added, bringing the number of Up and Down services to six per day.

Trains depart from Thayezay Station at 7 am, 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, and from Taungpyone Station at 9:45 am, 12:45 pm and 5 pm. The trains stop at Ohbo, Myananda and Kapaing stations along the route, with fares set at K1,000 per passenger.

Myanma Railways also plans to increase the number of services if passenger numbers rise further. — TWA/MKKS
