Yangon Police ramp up crime prevention, public awareness campaigns
POLICE across Yangon Region have
intensified crime prevention and public safety efforts in cooperation with
traffic police and local administrative bodies through public awareness campaigns,
patrols and security inspections, according to official reports.
As part of the campaign, the chief of
the Hmawby District Police Force and officers delivered crime prevention
awareness talks during the Ward and Village Administrators’ Capacity-Building
Training 2/2026 at the Htantabin Township General Administration Department
yesterday morning.
Officers from the Hmawby Township Police
Station held a crime prevention awareness session at the Hteinhngapin Village
Administrator’s Office. Meanwhile, the chief and officers of the Sangyoung
Township Police Station visited homes to educate residents on crime prevention
measures.
In Dala Township, traffic police
officers conducted a public awareness campaign at the traffic lights near the
Dala Bridge, encouraging pedestrians to use designated zebra crossings when
crossing roads.
The previous evening, a joint team led
by the acting chief of the Dagon Myothit (North) Township Police Force
conducted security patrols across the township. In addition, the chief of the
Ahlon Township Police Force and a joint inspection team conducted overnight
guest registration checks in the Saw Yan Paing (East) Ward along Waibargi Road
