Htantabin hands over MSY village project funds
THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Htantabin Township , held a ceremony to hand over K60 million in Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project funds to project villages yesterday.
Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Thein Yi and Region Hluttaw Representative U Taing Ya delivered opening remarks. Htantabin Township Department of the Rural Development Head Daw Cho Mie Aye explained the objectives of the fund handover ceremony, project activities and procedures to be followed by the project villages.
Afterwards, the Hluttaw representatives, the Township Administration and Management Committee chairman and members, the township head and officials handed over K30 million each to the project implementation groups of Lamu Village and Maepali and Tayokesu villages, totalling K60 million.
The township department will disburse loans from the project funds to rural residents to obtain necessary capital for expanding small-scale family income-generating agricultural, livestock breeding and trading activities, as well as to carry out village development activities using interest earnings generated from the project. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
