Inter-Ministry Sepak Takraw Tourney group matches begin

THE 2026 Inter-Ministry Sepak Takraw Tourna­ment began yesterday at Gymnasium A of the Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw, with the men’s regu team group-stage matches get­ting underway.

Organized by the Ministry of Sports in co­operation with the My­anmar Sepak Takraw Federation, the tourna­ment features teams from various ministries competing in a series of group matches. Several teams secured 2-0 vic­tories, while the teams representing the Minis­try of Construction, the Ministry of Finance and Revenue, and the Minis­try of Cooperatives and Rural Development re­corded 2-1 wins in their respective matches.

The final group-stage matches and first-round knockout matches of the men’s regu team event will continue from 9 am on 4 September, accord­ing to the organizers. — MNA/KZL
