Kengtung’s MSY project funds disbursed

THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, held a ceremony yester­day to disburse revolv­ing funds under the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project for systematic live­stock farming in Pintauk Model Village, Kengtung Township, Shan State (East).

Kengtung Township Department of Rural De­velopment Head U Sai Aung Kham explained the objectives of disbursing project funds to expand household income-gen­erating activities and implement village devel­opment tasks through project earnings. Project staff briefed participants on project activities, in­terest rates, repayment periods and rules to be followed. Township Head U Sai Aung Kham handed over K30 million in revolv­ing funds to members of the village project imple­mentation team.

Under the supervision of the department, mem­bers of the village project implementation team dis­bursed the first round of K30 million in low-interest revolving loans directly to 32 beneficiaries in Pintauk Model Village to undertake systematic livestock farm­ing activities. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
