MoE Union Minister receives Indonesian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires

UNION Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein received a delegation led by Mr Novan Ivanhoe Saleh, Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, at the reception hall of the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on several matters, including the provision of training courses on teaching methodology in cooperation with Indonesian educational organizations to enhance the teaching skills of teachers from 25 teacher education colleges in Myanmar, securing scholarships for Myanmar students at universities in Indonesia, introducing Indonesian language courses at the Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL) and the Mandalay University of Foreign Languages (MUFL), establishing student exchange programmes by linking tourism-specialized universities in Indonesia with hotels and tourism management courses at the National Management Degree College, and further strengthening cooperation in vocational education.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint, directors-general and other officials, according to reports. — MNA/TH
