OFFICIALS from the Mohnyin Township Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, conducted a field inspection on the morning of 28 September to monitor the progress of garment businesses implemented by graduates of vocational sewing training courses in Thayagon Village. The initiative links vocational training provided to rural residents with the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project to expand employment opportunities and develop local livelihoods. During the inspection, Head of the Mohnyin District Department of Rural Development U Mya Thein Win, along with Township Head U Htay Myint and project managers, met the Thayagon Village MSY Project Committee members. They inspected the implementation of garment businesses carried out by the sewing course graduates using project revolving funds, verifying that operations strictly followed the guidelines set out in the project handbook. The district head encouraged the local entrepreneurs to expand their garment production from basic levels to advanced operational standards. To facilitate these livelihood activities for sewing course graduates in Thayagon Village, the Mohnyin Township Department of Rural Development supervised the issuance of low-interest loans from the MSY project funds through the village project committee, according to U Mya Thein Win, Head of the Mohnyin District Department of Rural Development. — Chit Oo Ko (DRD)
