Myanmar delegation attends China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning
A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Ye Tint Tun attended the opening of the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo and the China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Agricultural and Poverty Reduction Cooperation Conference in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
Hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from 17 to 18 September, the conference focused on strengthening China-ASEAN cooperation in agriculture and poverty reduction and promoting regional economic and social development. Discussions covered smart agriculture, the digital economy and poverty alleviation.
On 17 September, the Myanmar delegation attended the opening of the China-ASEAN Expo, where Dr Ye Tint Tun delivered remarks at the agricultural and poverty reduction cooperation conference and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements for related projects. He also attended a panel discussion on smart agriculture and poverty reduction.
On 18 September, the delegation visited the expo and JJR Science and Technology Group Co, Ltd, where it studied smart agricultural technologies, including satellite-based irrigation, AI crop and pest monitoring, precision farming and online fruit trading. The delegation also visited the company’s AI-based blueberry farm.
On 19 September, the delegation visited Guangxi Aquatic and Animal Husbandry School and studied aquaculture and livestock technologies, including breeding, disease control, feed and nutrition management, water quality management and agricultural product processing and preservation. — MNA/KZL
