Myanmar wins two gold and two bronze medals at Asian Bodybuilding Championships

MYANMAR secured two gold and two bronze medals at the 58th Asian Bodybuild­ing and Physique Sports Championships 2026, being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22 to 28 September.

Hein Zaw Lin won gold in the Men’s Bodybuilding up to 65 kilogramme cate­gory, which featured eight competitors from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and Myanmar.

Nay Myo Htut claimed the second gold medal in the Men’s Sports Physique up to 170 centimetres cate­gory, competing against 12 athletes from Afghanistan, Thailand, Pakistan, Myan­mar, India, Malaysia, Laos and the Maldives.

Aung Htut won bronze in the Men’s Bodybuilding up to 60 kilogramme cate­gory, which featured nine competitors from India, Thailand, Malaysia, Viet­nam, Indonesia, Myanmar and Hong Kong (China).

In the Women’s Well­ness Physique event held yesterday, Moe Thet Khaing also secured bronze among nine competitors from Mongolia, Uzbeki­stan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong (China).

Hein Zaw Lin also re­ceived the Best Poser 2026 Asia award in the Men’s Bodybuilding up to 65 kilo­gramme category.

Myanmar participated in the championships with a delegation led by Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation Presi­dent U Cho Tun Aung, Sec­retary of the Yangon City Development Committee, along with Vice-President and manager U Kyaw Than, coaches Daw Yi Yi Win and U Nay Lin, judges U Aung Naing and Daw Nang Loung Kham, and six ath­letes. — MNA/KZL
