Seven athlete-horse pairs pass FEI 1 Endurance Qualification
THE FEI 1 Endurance Qualification 40-kilometre competition, organized by the Myanmar Equestrian Federation, was held yesterday morning at the Equestrian Sports Ground in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
The competition was officially launched with a simultaneous flag-off by U Nyi Nyi, Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and Deputy Minister for Sports, and the ringing of a bell by U Pyone Maung Maung, President of the Myanmar Equestrian Federation.
A total of eight athletes and eight horses competed as eight athlete-horse pairs in the 40-kilometre endurance qualification event. At designated water points, the horses were watered and cooled down. After completing the first 20-kilometre loop, the pairs returned to the competition area for reporting and veterinary inspection.
The veterinary team conducted health checks on the horses, while officials carried out the required entry and exit registration checks. The pairs then set out for the second 20-kilometre loop at the designated time. After reaching the water points, the horses were again watered and cooled down before the pairs proceeded to the designated finish area.
Following the second loop, the horses underwent another veterinary inspection and the required registration checks.
After the inspections, a certificate presentation ceremony was held for the athletes and horses that successfully completed the qualification. Myanmar Equestrian Federation President U Pyone Maung Maung presented qualification certificates to seven athlete-horse pairs that passed the assessment.
The successful pairs were Lin Pyae Thu with Yadana Tun, Kyaw Toe Lin with Tawwin Tun, Htoo Htet Lwin with Maha Tun, Aung Myat Zaw with Zayan Tun, Myat Thu Htet with Bagyan, Aung Kyaw Zin with Sein Zat Kyar, and Ye Paing Oo with Theikdi Tun. — MNA/KZL
