Lime Growers in Dedaye Township Earn Additional Income from Good Market Prices
Dedaye, October 30
Lime growers in Dedaye Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyarwady Region, are earning additional family income as lime fruits fetch favorable market prices.
Taking advantage of the area's favorable climate and fertile soil, farmers cultivate lime trees using grafting techniques and organic fertilizers. The trees generally begin bearing fruit abundantly about one year after planting.
During this summer's early harvest season, limes have been selling at K500 to K700 per fruit, helping local farmers boost their income.—Aye Zar Lin
