Vaccinations Provided to Pregnant Women and Children Under Two in Thegon Township

Vaccination and healthcare services are being provided to pregnant women and children under two in Thegon Township, Nattalin District, Bago Region, to protect them against infectious diseases.

The activities are being conducted at the Township Maternal and Child Health Department and Rural Health Department from 9:00 a.m. today.

Daw Aye Thandar, a female health worker from the Maternal and Child Health Department, gave health education on common infectious diseases affecting children and pregnant women, as well as reproductive health.

Children were given age-appropriate vaccinations against diseases including hepatitis B, tetanus, tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, meningitis, measles, Japanese encephalitis and rubella. Polio and diarrhoea vaccinations, along with other necessary healthcare services, were also provided to pregnant women.—Ko Kyaw (Thaekone)
