Winter Crop Cultivation Loans Disbursed in Kyaiklat Township

Winter crop cultivation loans have been started to be disbursed to farmers in Kyaiklat Township, Phyapon District, Ayeyawady Region, under the 2026-2027 financial year programme to promote double-cropping and expand agricultural credit.

The loans began to be disbursed at the Kyaiklat Township branch of the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank on the morning of October 6, according to the branch.

At the opening of the loan disbursement, Daw Nwe Nwe Win, manager of the Myanma Agricultural Development Bank branch in Kyaiklat Township, explained the rules and regulations that farmers are required to follow when repaying the loans.

Following the briefing, loans totalling K232.5 billion were disbursed to 102 farmers from three village-tracts to cover cultivation costs for 775 acres of winter crops.

For the 2026 winter crop season, the Myanma Agricultural Development Bank plans to provide cultivation loans to 5,500 farmers from 83 village-tracts, with total loans amounting to K115.85 billion.

The loans will be disbursed directly to farmers to support their winter crop cultivation, according to Daw Nwe Nwe Win, manager of the Myanma Agricultural Development Bank branch in Kyaiklat Township.

The loan programme is part of efforts to increase double-cropping capacity and provide farmers with the necessary financial support for seasonal cultivation.—Hlaing Min Aung (IPRD)
