Bomb threats disrupt European flights

Airlines across Europe have been dealing with a series of bomb threats in recent days. Media reports said at least 20 flights received them on Thursday.

One plane was traveling from Dublin to Rome, and it made an emergency landing at an air base in northwestern France. The French Air Force said it scrambled two fighter jets to escort the plane. It evacuated the passengers and crew, and deployed bomb disposal teams.

Czech police said four flights to Prague received threats and were searched for explosives after landing.

Airlines and media outlets said the warnings targeted flights all over Europe. Some were forced to divert and redo baggage screenings. They said no explosives have been found.

The latest disruptions come just days after eight flights received similar threats across the region.

The International Air Transport Association condemned this wave of threats on social media, saying safety is the "number one priority" and it takes "all threats seriously."
